Album Review: Mumford and Sons’s Babel

Album Review: Mumford and Sonss Babel

Coming back strong for another album, Mumford and Sons keep that strumming-folk feeling that was featured in their hit “Little Lion Man.” Babel is the album Mumford and Sons wrote in response to the high praise they had received from the hits off of Sigh No More.

The songs on Babel hold the same folk style as previous singles, and they also have the same structure. Most of the tunes will start slow and build up to a huge climax by the chorus of the song.

“If you believe in me, I’ll still believe,” Mumford chants in “Holland Road”. The lyrics of the songs are poignant and hold love and religion at the front. Mumford and Sons have the ability to make their audience wear their hearts on their sleeves because of the lyrics and the instrumentals.

Talent is clear on Babel regarding both the content and the overall sound. When listening to this album overall, one would feel like dancing around a campfire, chanting the lyrics. This album has reached the success of which Mumford and Sons had been hoping for in every single way.
