Album Review: Muse’s The 2nd Law

Album Review: Muses The 2nd Law

For the sixth time, Muse returns with an outlandish album that contradicts all of the normalities of rock bands everywhere. From the band that usually looks up to Queen for inspiration, “The 2nd Law” adds in a new flavor that sounds like Led Zepplin.

Muse is unlike others with its melodramatic lyrics and funky sound. On The 2nd Law, Muse proved it to be correct once again. “And now I need to know is this real love/Or is it just madness keeping us afloat?” sings lead singer Matthew Bellamy in “Madness”.

The music seems to be the heart of the album, having intense layers of sound throughout “The 2nd Law”. In “Madness,” Muse adds a guitar solo that reminds the listener of Led Zepplin. This may be Muse’s attempt to sound a little different than previous albums.

All in all, Muse accomplished the unique sound that we have all seen before while also adding that flare of rock to the album.
