Passion in teaching brings more motivation to students

In the generation that we live in, school is not everyone’s favorite. It is important for teachers to make a connection with their students in order for the student to be interested in what they have to teach. It is also important to be passionate about your job.

There are various opinions on school, and many are not very positive. This may have to do with the atmosphere. If a student feels the only reason they are there is because they are forced to be, all motivation is lost. In a lesson, a little fun and excitement is a good thing, and goes a long way.

Getting the point across is important, but so is making sure students are trying and participating. Students sometimes feel that the entire period is not used to help students learn the material, but instead students are asked to do work individually without the necessary teacher assistance.

“I think sometimes class time is not being used as efficiently as it could be. There is less time spent focusing on our material,” sophomore Breana Strege said.

Everyone learns at different speeds and levels, and it is ideal that teachers are making sure that everyone is understanding and paying attention to what is being taught.

“Sometimes I feel as if the lessons aren’t getting explained enough. Some teachers put more effort into their lessons than others,” sophomore Presley Lindhorst said.

Equal attention needs to be paid to everyone when it comes to academics. With that being said, teachers should be more mindful about their teaching and with checking in on their students. Making students feel like their education is cared for is important because it may increase their engagement level and increase their ability to further their education and to become successful in their future.
