Football: Having one of the best records of all time, the boys went into their playoff game 8-1 on Friday, Nov. 9. Roseburg made the journey to play the boys on their home field. The Roseburg Indians were leading 14-3 at halftime. Mikey Downey made a field goal to put the team on the scoreboard before the second quarter ended.

In the second half the Gophers made a mighty comeback to put the game into overtime. In the first overtime, Roseburg scored first, followed by a returned touchdown for the Gophers. It was in double overtime, when Gresham scored first. Roseburg then scored again to put the home team down by one. The Indians went for the two point conversion and got it to win the game. This was the only game that night to go into overtime.

Overall the record for the volleyball team was 23-10. Their league record for this year was 8-4. On Oct. 31, the girls played McMinnville in the playoffs, and they won in three sets. On Nov. 3, the team played Lakeridge in the playoffs and again the Gophers won in three sets. The team went to the state tournament on Nov. 9, which was held at Liberty High School.

At State the Gresham volleyball team lost the first game in three sets to Central Catholic. On Nov. 10, at the same tournament, the team beat Barlow in three, and finally Gresham beat Sheldon in five sets to finish fourth in State overall.

Girls Waterpolo: The Gresham girls water polo team also advanced to the state water polo tournament. They lost the first game in the tournament to South Eugene on Nov. 31, which met they were then done with State. The state tournament was held at the Corvallis Aquatic Center.

Their league record this season was 3-9.

Girls Cross Country:
The Gresham girls cross country team this year finished off their season, placing ninth in the state meet, which was held at Lane Community College on Nov. 3.

Their overall record this season was 2-6.

Girls Soccer: Gresham’s girls soccer team had an advantage going to the first round State Playoffs, as the team skipped the play-in game this year because they finished league in second place and had a league record of 9-3.

The game took place on Nov. 3 against South Eugene. The girls lost 1-0 in the first round.
