Rock With the White and Roll With the Blue
October 31, 2018
As the football season comes to a close it’s time to reflect on the team’s season.
The team’s first game was against Grant High School, and the score was 17-7 (L). The next game was against Aloha High School, and the score was 54-50 (W). The third game was against Barlow High School, and the score was a huge L 48-0. The team has recently played Sandy High School (45-14) (L) and recently, Jefferson High School 65-26 (W).
Many of the senior football players are emotional about the last games of their high school football career.
“It’s really sad to think that I won’t be wearing the blue, white, and gray for the next years coming up or even having the G on my helmet” senior running back Lucas Rhinevault said.
The team can always work on improving themselves for the next season. Something the team can fix is being more confident.
“I want to end my last year playing for the Gophers on a good note,” senior receiver Hunter Snow said.
There are plenty of ways to improve football playing, such as working better together as a team, increasing fan representation, and striving to win.
“A way the team can improve themselves is to actually show up to the practices,” coach Jim Gardenhire said.
The team can learn from their mistakes and better themselves as a team and individually for the years to come. The team has had a rocky season, but with their fans cheering them on we can hope to end the season taking dubs.
