The Gresham Barlow School District has announced district wide cancellations due to extreme weather conditions.
All after-school events, activities, athletics, Champions and SUN programs have been cancelled for this afternoon due to high levels of water around schools in the district and dangerous road conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, a flood warning was issued to Multnomah and Marion counties at 10:25 a.m. It was reported that heavy rain would continue to fall for the next two hours at about half an inch per hour.
Flooding around the district caused East Orient elementary school to release their students at 11:30 a.m. this morning.
As of now, after school activities are to resume as normal tomorrow afternoon. The Gresham Argus will keep you updated on any breaking news or changes affecting the school day tomorrow.
