Ask Argus- Sincerely, Confused and In Love

Angelica Smith, Associate Editor

Dear Argus,

“I’m having trouble. I have this opportunity to go to a school that would help me catch up and graduate on time. Plus it would help me learn at my own pace with my dyslexia. The only thing holding me back is the fact that I’m terrified of losing someone I love. I feel like switching would affect my relationship with an amazing person and I don’t want that to happen. I don’t know what to do.”

Sincerely, Confused and In Love

 Dear Confused and In Love,

You have found yourself in a very unfortunate situation, which greatly impacts your future. I understand your concern in regards to losing someone you love, but your significant other should support you no matter what your decision is. If they really love you they wouldn’t want to hold you back from pursuing future opportunities.  If your significant other does not support you, then maybe they are not the right person for you. With this in mind, you should take some time to think about what will benefit you in the long run before making any final decisions driven by fear. You don’t want to regret any decisions made too quickly… Gopher-it!
