Ask Argus- Sincerely, Troubled

Dear Ask Argus,

I just found out my boyfriend cheated on me with one of my best friends. We’ve been together for two years and I feel like ending the relationship, but wouldn’t it be a waste of all the hard work and time? he makes me happy and everybody makes mistakes right? My boyfriend and my friend have both come to me and apologized. I believe it was sincere but I am still having trouble deciding whether or not it would make me look stupid. I fully understand they were both wrong but how I can I lose two of the closest people to me?

Sincerely, Troubled

Dear Troubled,

You have found yourself in an unfortunate situation, which no one should be in. Two people who gained your complete trust have backstabbed you and made you look like a fool. The most effective way to handle this situation would be to drop both of them, keeping in mind that you will have to start new relationships. But think about it this way, you will learn from this and know what to avoid when meeting new people who appear to be trustworthy because having trust in a relationship is crucial for a long term commitment.
